Player not showing
The Tuneboom player doesn't appear on your product pages, whether from a vintage theme, the missing app block, or stale store assets.
Symptom: you've installed Tuneboom, but product pages show no player. No waveform, no play button, nothing.
There are three causes, in descending order of likelihood. Work top to bottom.
Vintage theme (Online Store 2.0 required)
Cause: your published theme still uses a Liquid product template. The Tuneboom player is an Online Store 2.0 app block, and a vintage template has no sections to host it, so the block simply can't appear there. The setup guide detects this and warns: "Your published theme still uses a Liquid product template, which cannot host the new player. Switch to an Online Store 2.0 theme."
Fix: switch your published theme to an Online Store 2.0 theme (every current free Shopify theme qualifies, from Dawn onward). In your Shopify admin open Online Store→Themes, publish an OS 2.0 theme, then add the player block to it as in Install the player block.
Not sure if your theme is vintage?
Open the theme editor on a product page. If the left panel shows sections you can add blocks to, you're on OS 2.0. If the Tuneboom Player block is nowhere in the add-block list, you're on a vintage template.
The app block was never added (or never saved)
Cause: on OS 2.0 themes the player only appears where you've added the Tuneboom Player block, and the theme editor only applies it after you press Save. The most common miss: opening the editor via the setup guide's deep link (which pre-adds the block), then closing the tab without saving.
Fix: re-run step 1 of the setup guide (Dashboard→Setup guide) or add the block manually in the theme editor, and press Save before leaving:
Back on the dashboard, press Recheck. The guide reads your published theme directly, so a green check means the block is genuinely live.
Note the player's appearance is configured in Tuneboom (Storefront→Presets), not in the theme editor. See Customize appearance.
Assets out of date
Cause: the block is added, the theme is OS 2.0, but the player still doesn't appear, or looks broken. This usually happens after a theme update, theme switch, or restoring a theme backup. The Tuneboom snippets in the theme have drifted from what the app expects.
Fix: run Settings→Advanced → Reinstall store assets. It republishes the player and snippets to your theme without touching your music. Details: Advanced settings.
Still nothing?
- The sticky player bar is a separate app embed with its own toggle. If only the bottom bar is missing, see Sticky player bar.
- If the player appears but the tracks are wrong or previews won't play, that's a different problem. Check the track's status flags in your catalog (a Private or Not for sale track doesn't play publicly).
