Migrating from v1
How established v1 stores move the storefront player to the new app block, what the banner means, what changes, and what keeps working.
Tuneboom v1 injected the storefront player into your theme as Liquid template assets. v2 replaces that with a theme app block: faster, positionable in the theme editor, and styled entirely from your player presets. If you've been selling on v1, Tuneboom prompts you to move over; nothing breaks in the meantime.
The migration banner
Established v1 stores keep their full dashboard. You are not locked behind the new-store setup checklist. Instead, a warning banner appears above the dashboard:
The banner is titled Move your storefront player to the new version and reads: "Your storefront player is upgrading to a faster app block. Add it to your product pages so new releases stay playable — your existing products keep working until you switch."
You only see it if Tuneboom detects old v1 theme assets on your shop and the new app block isn't placed yet. Once the block is detected in your published theme, the banner disappears for good.
The two buttons
- Show me how expands the full setup guide inline, under the banner. It's the same verified checklist new stores get, including the theme-editor link, the "press Save" reminder and the Recheck button. Your dashboard stays intact below it.
- Remind me later hides the banner for this session. It returns the next time you log in, and it keeps returning until the block is placed, because until then new releases can't play on your product pages.
Doing the move
The only step that actually migrates anything is placing the app block:
- Click Show me how, then Add the new player (or Add to product page inside the expanded guide).
- The theme editor opens with the Tuneboom player already added to your product information section.
- Press Save in the top-right corner of the theme editor.
- Back in Tuneboom, press Recheck. The step ticks once your saved theme carries the block.
While you're in the expanded guide, it's worth completing the other steps too. The sticky player bar and license consent are app embeds that v1 never had.
If your theme is vintage
A vintage (Liquid) theme can't host app blocks at all. In that case the banner adds: "Your published theme still uses a Liquid product template, which cannot host the new player. Switch to an Online Store 2.0 theme to move over." The button then becomes Explore Online Store 2.0 themes, taking you to your theme admin. Pick and publish an Online Store 2.0 theme first, then run the migration. More detail: Player not showing.

Your catalog, licenses, orders and settings carry over untouched. The migration only affects how the player reaches your storefront.
