What is Tuneboom?

Sell tracks, albums, sound kits and tracklists in your Shopify store, with previews, licensing and instant delivery handled for you.

Tuneboom is a Shopify app for selling music. You upload tracks, set license terms, and publish. Tuneboom creates the matching Shopify products, plays previews on your storefront, and delivers the files to buyers automatically after checkout. Every sale goes through Shopify's own checkout; Tuneboom is a flat monthly subscription and takes no cut of your sales.

The three pieces

Tuneboom is one app, but it works in three places:

The admin app

Embedded in your Shopify admin. This is where you manage your catalog (tracks, sound kits, albums and tracklists) plus licenses, orders, player presets and settings.

The storefront player

A theme app extension you enable once in the theme editor: an inline player block on product pages, a sticky player bar that keeps music playing while buyers browse, and a license consent modal for licenses that require acceptance.

Automatic delivery

When an order is paid, Tuneboom fulfills it, emails the buyer secure download links, and attaches the license agreement. No manual file-sending.

What you can sell

Tracks: beats, songs or vocals, each with its own preview, pricing and license options. Beats and vocals sell under one or more of your licenses (for example an MP3 lease, a WAV lease and an exclusive); songs sell at a flat price.
Albums: collections of your tracks sold together, with drag-to-reorder running order and scheduled release dates.
Sound kits Basic plan and up: drum kits, loops, one-shots, MIDI or preset packs delivered as a .zip or .rar archive, with streamable demo and per-sound previews on the product page.
Tracklists Basic plan and up: curated collections published as Shopify collections that buyers can browse and buy from.

Requirements

A Shopify store. Tuneboom installs into the store you already run. If you don't have one yet, create the store first, then add Tuneboom from the Shopify App Store.
An Online Store 2.0 theme for the product-page player. The player is a theme app block, and vintage themes (Liquid product templates) have no app-block slots. The setup guide warns you and links to your theme admin if your published theme can't host it. The sticky player bar and the license consent modal are app embeds and work on every theme, vintage included.

How a sale works

A buyer hears the preview in the player on your product page (or in the sticky bar while browsing).
They pick a license, add to cart and check out. If the license requires acceptance, Tuneboom collects it before checkout.
Shopify processes the payment. The money goes to you, like any other order.
Tuneboom fulfills the order and emails the buyer their download links and license agreement.
