Install the player block
Add the Tuneboom Player app block to your theme, understand how it auto-detects tracks, albums, and sound kits per page, and what the theme editor's sample tracks are.
The Tuneboom Player is an app block you place in your theme: on product pages, your home page, or any Online Store 2.0 section. Once placed, it figures out what to play from the page it's on.
Add the block
Use the setup guide's deep link
The fastest route is the Setup guide on your Tuneboom dashboard: its Add Tuneboom player to product page step opens the Shopify theme editor with the block already added to your product page. You only press Save.
You can also add it manually: in the theme editor, open the template you want, click Add block, and pick Tuneboom Player from the Apps section.
Save the theme
Tuneboom verifies the block by reading your published theme, so the setup guide checks itself off once you save.
Vintage themes can't host the player
App blocks require an Online Store 2.0 theme. If your published theme still uses a Liquid product template, the setup guide warns you and links to your theme list instead. Switch to an OS 2.0 theme first. See the setup guide.
How the block picks what to play
On a product page, the block links itself to that product's audio automatically, with no setup. When you publish a track, album, or sound kit, Tuneboom stores hidden app data on the Shopify product, and the block reads it to pick a mode:

A sound kit product always wins over track/album modes: the kit is the product. Kit mode uses one fixed layout and ignores presets.
Block settings
The block keeps only placement concerns in the theme editor:
- Layout: Automatic (managed in Tuneboom app) (recommended), Full store player, Single track card, or Track list (minimal). This only applies outside the product modes above. With Automatic, the layout follows your preset.
- Playlist / collection: on non-product pages, point the browse player at a Shopify collection.
- List heading (minimal variant): a heading for the track list layout.
- API URL: advanced. Leave as-is unless Tuneboom support tells you otherwise.
Appearance is managed in Tuneboom, not the theme editor
Colors, corner radius, buy buttons, branding, and controls are intentionally not theme settings. They live on your presets, so one change restyles every player on every page of every theme.
Sample tracks in the theme editor
While you're customizing a theme before your catalog has any published songs, the block would otherwise show an empty player. In the theme editor only, it detects the empty catalog and swaps in a few playable sample tracks (for example "Midnight Drive") so you can see and style a populated player. The samples never appear on your live storefront, and they disappear from the editor as soon as your first real tracks are published.
