Download links

The Download links settings, including the per-link download limit and expiry, and how the policy applies.

The Download links section of SettingsDownload links sets the policy stamped onto every new download link Tuneboom creates at fulfillment: how many times each link can be used, and how long it stays live. Available on every plan.

Two numbers and two checkboxes make up the whole policy.

The fields

FieldRangeWhat it does
Download limit1–1000, or Unlimited downloadsDownloads allowed per link. When the count is reached, the link stops serving files.
Link expiry1–3650 days, or Links never expireDays before a link lapses. An expired link shows the customer a polite message instead of downloads.

Checking Unlimited downloads or Links never expire disables the corresponding number field. Clearing a number field also falls back to the unlimited/never behavior. Press Save to apply.

If you have never configured this section, the default applies: 3 downloads per link, links never expire.

New links only

As the section itself notes: the policy applies to newly issued download links only. Links already sent keep the policy they were created with. Tightening the policy does not kill old links after the fact, and loosening it does not revive used-up ones. To give a customer a fresh link under the current policy, resend their delivery email. See Managing orders.

How to think about the values

This is your dial for the delivery system documented in Download links. That page covers what a link actually is, what your customer sees, and guidance on choosing values for different kinds of sales (leases vs. exclusives).
